1967 Trini Lopez , factory Ebony “Black” finish with factory Bigsby for sale at Greg’s Vintage Guitars..
Less than 2000 Trini Lopez models were produced overall between 1964 and 1970 and in 1967 there were approx. 770 total being shipped. Out of all these Cherry red was the most common with Pelham blue being the most produced “custom color” followed by Burgundy sparkling red and finally the most rare custom finish in Ebony (black) , I have only seen reference to four others in this Black factory finish and only one other black trini Lopez with a factory bigsby as this one has. As different as the it is from ES 335 it also shared some aspects like the maple laminated body with maple center block, This Trini Lopez has the early Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, 24 ¾ inch scale length, two patent number humbucking pickups,6 in a line , one side nickel Kluson Deluxe tuning keys split diamond fingerboard inlays and of course the sexy Bigsby. Pot codes are hard to see but confirm 13766X8 and a serial number of 8694XX making it fall in line with 1967 production numbers. Replaced frets, possible replaced truss rod cover. No breaks ,no broken solder joints. Factory finish blacklight properly, she shows some finish checking and a few slight scratches with NO belt buckle rash on the back of the guitar. Very LITTLE has been done in the clean up department so as not to damage the original finish in any way, I was the first person known to take the guitar apart for authentication and it was a pleasure to establish its originality, Comes with a non original newer hard shell plush lined case.. So here is your chance to get an artist series vintage rare custom color Gibson Trini Lopez model electric guitar. Priced at $18,000.00.
