So, here we have a rare 1979 Factory finish Gibson Silverburst Flying V for sale at Greg's Vintage Guitar sales.
From what I can ascertain less than 20 flying V's were produced in this custom color and less than 4 pre 1980 were finished in silverburst, with 1 going to England...Well this silverburst flying V was purchased by a U.S. serviceman in England and brought back to the United States after his tour of duty. It come with it's original form fit hard shell case, I can not say for certain that the original Lyre style vibrato holes had a vibrato installed at the factory originally or if it was pre drilled for a vibrato and then left the factory with the stop tail piece behind the bridge, Gibson has no records for these and very little is on the web or any websites about these rare Silverburst Flying V's from 1979. It does come with some players wear, incorrect Fender control knobs and changed tuning keys. The players wear and band logo on the case come at no extra charge.
1 and 5/8th nut width, not a chunky neck but not a pencil either , pretty normal period neck profile. SN# 733391XX,
